Accreditation as a Sports Dietitian

To become a qualified Sports Dietitian and become eligible for full membership of Sports Dietitians Australia, there are a number of different courses and qualifications that can be undertaken. The following courses are all accredited for 2007-2008 university years. Some are units available only as part of a University Degree, while others are available as single units.

Of course, full membership of SDA is only available to dietitians who are eligible for full membership of DAA.  To apply for SDA full membership, each applicant must supply evidence of membership of DAA, as well as the university transcript that demonstrates that they have successfully undertaken one of the following accredited units.

SDA SPORTS NUTRITION FURTHER EDUCATION COURSE

SDA Sports Nutrition Further Education Course incorporates, theory with practical scenarios, workshops and discussion groups. There will also be a self-directed learning task before the course to ensure all participants feel more confident, relaxed and engaged when they arrive at the course. We feel this will maximize the learning experience and particularly assist those who have minimal to no previous experience in sports nutrition. The pre-course self-directed learning package and group participation within the course will now replace the post-course examination.
